Spring has sprung

It's been a great start to spring here this weekend. Yesterday me and the humans went to Central Park, one of my favorite places. We walked around for a while, until we came to this big fountain. So I did what any self-respecting lab would--I went swimming! You can see me here on the right:
And here I am in action--the water was too deep too walk in, but not really deep enough to swim in. So this is me hopping around:
And this is me playing with another dog--super close up shot!
After this, we walked around the neighborhood, all the way down to the Hell's Kitchen Flea Market. Then I took a nap.

And THEN we went to the dog park...and the pool was up!!!!! It was a great day, and the best start to spring ever.

Another hobby

So another one of my hobbies is chewing on plastic bottles. The bigger, the better! The humans take off the cap and plastic ring on each one for me, and then I carry it around the house excitedly, chewing on the top until it's past recognition. It's great...though maybe the people who take away our recycling don't think so.

Rain, rain, go away!!!!

Well, the whole weekend wasn't rainy, but today sure was. It's been raining since we woke up. My friend Mia came over to my house for the first time ever today. I had to learn how to share my toys, but I was pretty good about it. We both chewed on bones.Yesterday me and the humans walked all the way down to 19th street to take me swimming, but the place said the pool filter was broken so I couldn't go swimming. We were disappointed. We walked pretty far to get there, and then we still had to walk all the way back!! But I took a big nap when we got home and I felt much better.

Hopefully tomorrow won't be as rainy as today. I don't like going for walks in the rain and getting wet. I only like to get wet if I'm swimming. I hope summer hurries up and gets here soon!

So much laundry, so little time...

Evening routine

The last couple of evenings me and the human(s) have gone to the dog run near our house. I'm older now, so I play a lot nicer with the other dogs. And I have been having so much fun! Check out this video of me playing with my new friend Logan. He's a chocolate lab too, but he's just a baby--only six months old. I take it easy on him. He likes to chew on my ears.

Take that!

Another thing I love to do: rip up boxes. The other night the humans got three boxes in the mail. It was so fun!

Playtime

Usually when me and the human(s) go to the dog park after work, I spend the first 25 minutes standing around, smelling the air, and generally being antisocial. And then, just as they are getting ready to take me home, I spring into action and play with a dog that has been there the whole time but that I pretend to have just discovered. Tonight was sort of like that. I didn't want to play with anyone at the dog park. But then a puggle stole the ball I was chewing on, so we played chase. We played it so much I had to lay down and rest. I guess I'm not as young and crazy as I used to be!

Mmmmmmmm

This morning one of the humans made me dog treats from scratch (which, by the way, has nothing to do with actually scratching). They are chewy and taste like pumpkin. I like them. And then I spent the afternoon at Camp Canine. It was my cousin Ella's birthday, and there were going to be lots of kids at their house for a party so I couldn't go. I was sort of bummed out, but I played with other dogs and that made me feel better. Now we're all back home, and we're going to watch baseball tonight. Maybe I'll get to eat hot dogs with the humans?
